Спредът на финансов инструмент (акции, форекс и др.) се отнася до ценовата разлика между цената „купува“ и цената „продава“. Спредът е вид транзакционен разход, заедно с комисионните, ако има такива. Във връзка със спреда всяка сделка започва със загуба, защото купувате по курс „продава“ и продавате по курс „купува“.
Пример за EUR/USD спред:
